People’s Choice Awards Prove Fun

Published by mrivers at 11:44 am under Television Edit This

If we were reminded of anything during the People’s Choice Awards, it was that the awards are from the people.  The “people” being ordinary folks who watch the movies, listen to the music and turn into their favorite TV shows.

The broadcast pointed this out over and over.  Host Queen Latifah did an excellent job at mingling with the non-celebrity audience members.  She spent more time in the audience then she did on stage.  It was a unique approach to hosting an awards show.  And Queen looked like she was honestly having fun being part of the crowd.

Most winners thanked (repeatedly) the people for voting.  And on the way to collect their awards celebs had the chance to high-five audience members who were standing in a “mosh-pit” around the stage.

The show was fun to watch.  Loose.  It didn’t have the stuffiness that many award shows have when things start being taken too seriously.

The People’s Choice Awards was a party and I hope to get an invite next year!
